Youth Race Series
Youth Points Series is a series of timed, competitive races for young triathletes from 12-15 years of age. Athletes compete in two age groups 12-13 or 14-15. At some races like try-a-tri races they will race in the same wave and sometimes with adults too. The results at the race are based on the order everyone finished regardless of age, however for the youth points series you will be awarded finish points within your own age group. For example, even if you finished 5th in the race but you were the first 12-13 year old you would get maximum points for the race.
Youth KOS Membership
The 2010 Annual Kids of Steel ® Youth membership fee is $25.00 or $10.00 for a single event. Membership applications are available online or from the Triathlon Nova Scotia desk at any race registration area.
What is the difference between the Youth membership and the Kids membership? Which one do I need?
To race a youth KOS event you require a Youth membership. If you plan on doing both Kids and Youth races you need to purchase a Youth membership. It will cover you for both series.
What if I’m not sure how many youth races I want to do?
If you plan on doing one race to try it out purchase a Single event membership. If you fall in love with triathlon and want to do more during the summer the single event membership can be subtracted from your full season membership at your next race.
